Resumen
El presente trabajo analiza el campo semántico de la comida en La colmena. A partir de los sentidos connotativos que emanan de cada alimento, se reconstruye el ambiente de miseria física y espiritual que azota a la sociedad madrileña durante el período de posguerra. En una suerte de recorrido gastronómico las siguientes páginas estudian el uso de la comida en las descripciones de la ciudad junto con sus habitantes y animales, las canciones y refranes populares, el idiolecto de los personajes e incluso en veladas referencias históricas, políticas, sociales y culturales.
ABSTRACT
This paper analyzes the semantic field of food in La colmena. By studying the connotative senses derived from the different types of food presented, the atmosphere of physical and spiritual mysery which characterizes post-war Madrid is reconstructed. As if it were a gastonomic journey, the following pages study the use of food in the descriptions of the city together with its inhabitants and animals, the songs and popular sayings, the idiolect of the characters and even in subtle references to history, politics, society and culture.
